  • Fruits flowering out of season

I have been propagating some summer fruiting strawberries that I adopted when I took on my plot by spreaders.
The saved plants are under a fig tree and I have stretched as many as possible of the spreaders out over the proposed bed over summer.
One of them has suddenly started flowering and one looks like it is trying to set a fruit.
Has anyone else got any fruit flowering out of season?

My everbearing strawberries are still trying to flower (although none are setting fruit), but none of my summer ones are.
I sometimes get a cluster of blossoms on tree fruit in late summer, but I've never had anything flower this far out of season.

I just snip them off to save wasted energy.

I"™m not aware of any but I"™ll take a winter around the garden/ veggie plots and have a look!

There are a few wild strawberries on my plot that have got quite a display of flowers on them.
The fruits are nice but too small for anything more than a snack. I will leave one or two in. when I clear the area by the frog pond.
