  • Broken blackberry cane tip

In trying to encourage a new blackberry cane grow back towards the wires I have broken the tip off the new cane. I have cut off the broken tip as it was only attached with a slither of the outer bark and wilting. What is the best thing to do now. Leave it or cut it back further?

Is this thornless, if so they tend to be a bit less vigorous, so I wouldn't over prune it, my thornless is now three years old and is now a more robust plant.

Just cut it back to just above the nearest leaf.
It's normal to cut off the tips of cane fruit, anyway, as the canes are often too long, and, more importantly, the last few inches are often too thin and brittle to be able to bear a good crop, anyway.
