Rhubarb

I have 2 lovely crowns of rhubarb in my garden which I'm planning to move down to the lottie sometime, can anyone tell me when is the best time to do this?

Great question Lainey Lou,

I have no idea of the answer but I want to split mine and move them to 2 different places. I think it might be in November.
One thing I have done is to prepare 2 small beds with lots of rotted rabbit poo and straw

I've got hold of a bag of horse poo for mine to cheer it up after the move!

Definitely over winter when they have retreated back into the ground. You can see the nubs of the new shoots when you lift the plant and you might be able to split them carefully and increase your stock. The only fault I can find with rhubarb is the amount of sugar you need to use!

I have Stockbridge Arrow - a very nice flavour and, once it's established, a great cropper.
