Hello all.
We have just taken over a huge plot on a local allotment site, so am after ideas and inspiration.
Our plot is a right mess, it has not been used for at least 4 years and is neck high with brambles, nettles and dock leaves as well as rotting sheds, corrugated iron and broken glass. The plot is south facing and on a very steep slope. . . . what you would expect from land in the Welsh valley's. .with this rain this week clearing it seems like a literal up hill struggle!
We have made a start and have cleared the very top of it, planting as much as we can to keep the weeds at bay. Potatoes, toms, beets, salads, raddishes etc
We are keeping chucks (on another plot at the same site) and hope to keep bees too.

I can imagine exactly what your plot is like - it'll be well drained
Strim off what you can and see what you have - and get the rubbish cleared away asap. Sounds like you've made a good start though
