Jasper Fforde is probably my favourite author.

Long story, but I nearly got to meet him at a book signing recently but missed out. Sent him an email (rambling as I often do) telling the tale and the legend that is Jasper replied back and asked if he could have a photo to go on the website. I obliged and sent that one, and it turns out he used to have a big thing for Fiat 500's.

Top dude who writes top books.

How wickedly cool is that, I'm a bit more a King or Koontz fan myself and any cookbook I can lay my hands on. Have to look out for his work

I know who he is. I read one of his books and didn't get on with it. Strangely, inexplicably, some people feel the same about Sir Terry Pratchett.

Cool! You really are his biggest fan! Have heard the name but not read anything by him, I'll look out for his books in the library sometime!

Is the wikipedia revue of the first book pretty accurate, Wayne? If so I'm adding it to my shopping list.
Sent from my pc cos I don't have an i-phone.

Well done HeyWayne. Have you read 'Shades of Grey'? I'm saving mine until we go away at Easter.

You may be Jasper Fforde's biggest fan head to toe but if we were talking circumference I'm afraid I'd be well in with a chance.

If by the review you mean this: The Eyre Affair - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

then yes - that's pretty much it.

What I love about his books (the Thursday Next/Crime Fiction series in particular) is the way he plays with the "idea" of the book itself. I just love the idea of the Footnoterphone - just genius!
