  • That's twice this week on different walking forest tracks we have come across a single egg in the middle of the track.
I think geese? Not sure where they are nesting , plenty around here. I'm assuming a fox has helped itself? Surely wouldn't lay an egg on the track.

    • Afternoon all, late on parade today. Had the best nights sleep I’ve had in years, in fact I had an extra long lie too...do you think it was the Baileys night cap that did it? Wish I’d known sooner.
Thinking about haircuts, as Peteyd has said I wonder how many people will head back to the hairdresser/barber after this?
Excitement today is grocery delivery!! Woo hoo!!
Its cold and showery here but hope you have a great day no matter the weather!! x

      • Not much achieved so far. OH decided to sort the woodburner as the new parts arrived, so I've been clearing up
Having a quick hot chocolate then get going.
Winds got up quite a bit.

        • Plans all changed this morning. I was supposed to be accompanying an elderly relative to a hospital appointment quite early but then I got a phone call at 7am to say that the relative wasn't going. To be honest I had really not been looking forward to it so I sneaked back to bed for a couple of hours and actually slept😴. It's looking like rain here at the moment. I think I'll have another little planting frenzy this afternoon. It cheers me up to see little green shoots appearing.

I like, and really fancy the deep blue one with a white eye. It will probably be a named variety. The problem is I live on a windy site where all my daffodils have been blown to bits and don't know whether Delphiniums would survive?

                • May they bring you lots of pleasure, nick the grief. My dad used to buy delphiniums from them. Always made him feel special when they arrived. Thanks for reminding me of that.

                  • I have been sowing lettuce and radishes in the greenhouse this afternoon.
It was a very cold all day but now the temp showing 11degs and this is after six in the evening.
Got the laundry dried in record time and the grocery shopping done.
I feel I achieved something from the day.

I've also spent time in my GH today Bramble potting on brassicas it was rather nice and warm in there, it beats sowing those parsnip seeds in the cold garden.

Apart from that some, shopping, baking, cooking and reading.
                        Enjoy your evening.

I've always fancied some and tried a couple of times to grow them from seed but no success so I thought sod it . I'm not sure if I'll plant them or grow them on in pots and then next year either take crown buds or cuttings.

Snadger - there are some dwarfer ones about 3ft 6" or so

Wild birds do drop eggs all over the place at this time of year, some just don't make it to the nest, find Blackbird and House Sparrows eggs in our garden most years, sometimes broken, sometimes whole, never found a Goose egg though, imagine if one of those fell out whilst flying over at height........look out below....................
