  • Morning, Mr Bones. Morning, all.

Low last night of 12 ºC but will be back to around 3 or 4 ºC later in the week for a couple of nights, then back up again. Now very cloudy. Just as well, as there's more scything to do. Nearly done in my winter patch. I can go back to calling it that seeing as it looks like at least part of my summer patch will be brought back into service. Also need to finish off the tomato structure (some horizontal bracing pieces need adding just in case of high winds). And that will probably be it for the day. Drizzle forecast, but also got paid work to finish. And a great pile of washing-up. Friends came last night for supper. Very odd. We sat them at their own table a few metres away, but I still didn't feel very safe. Going to be a while before a sense of normality returns.

Right, have a good day everyone. Smiles on the loose again.
Location: north-east Spain, where the sun is too hot, the rain too torrential, the hail too big, the wind too windy and the snow too deep. Last frost: usually mid-April, sometimes first week in May. First frost: mid-October.

We have a lovely sunny start to the day so I think I’ll mow the field That’ll probably do me in for the rest of the day

OH is hoping to get the spuds in today too...finally! ( at least after all this rain they won’t be planted into dust!)

          Enjoy your day peeps....

            • Good morning all l Cloudy and breezy but dry.
Going to plant out some of my bedding stock today,
That should keep me going as I sowed quite a lot,
Grandson is coming for lunch so that will be a nice break.
              Have a happy Sunday all.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

              • Morning all. At last it is seasonably mild, 14C. What a difference it makes. Everything will grow like crazy after a whole day and night of soft rain.

I've put my toms outside for their first breath of garden air, the blackbird's singing to his ladylove, the windows are all open, it's a lovely day.

Thereafter, very soft and crumbly.
Quick veggie burger update:- baked 15 mins in fan oven 200c, flipped and did for an other 10 mins. Held together well but would have stood a bit more oomph in flavour - maybe chopped jalapenos, coriander leaf etc. and rolled in polenta.
Served with a drizzle of date molasses which went well but they looked remarkably like cookies with chocolate sauce
Definitely good as a base recipe and worth further experiment.
