Some decorations that are very old, and too precious to put on the tree.

and this was on my Mum's wedding cake in 1940, and has been on the tree every year since.

My granny used to have those candle holders which clipped onto the branches..I used to spend hours trying to get the candles upright!

...hmmm...maybe that was a job given me to keep me quiet?????

Gosh, I'd forgotten those! My mum had some when we kids were small. She put thin white candles in them, a bit bigger than birthday cake candles. I think she eventually threw them out as being unsafe - she worried someone might light the candles

Shocking nowadays to think that people actually used to put lighted candles on a Christmas tree.....

Mothhawk, that is a proper beauty of a tree. Amazing how many decorations a tree can take!
Seasonal greetings to you and yours.

I've only put about half the decorations on, Snoop. No blue or purple or gold this year.

The tinsel and strings of silver beads stayed in their bags too as my Mum doesn't like them on the tree (I do!).

^I love tinsel and strings of beads, too. But even without, your tree is lovely.
