  • Stuffed kale

I have some large nero kale plants.
I have seen recipes for stuffed cabbage so wondered about stuffed kale.

I took 4 of the huge, 10inch, " leaves and a few smaller ones.

Made up some filling, anything would do but I used packet sage and onion with some small diced kale leaves, onion and garlic.
I microwaved the large leaves for 1 minute to soften them.
Then nicked the stems every 2 cm to allow them to roll up better.
Then in each leaf 2 dessert spoons of filling, roll up and secure with 3 cocktail sticks, drizzle with olive oil.
Set them in a small casserole and bake 45 mins 180 deg C.

Great idea, Jimmy. And my thought too, Nicos. A bit like dolmades.

Bet they were yummy, Jimmy. Thanks for sharing.

Stuffing was a bit boring. Rice sounds nice or maybe contents of a nice Cumberland sausage.
        Haggis springs to mind !
