We've got fresh bread so I think I'll make carrot, thyme and ginger soup to go with it tonight. Crispy bacon bits and croutons to sprinkle over the top.
More chocolate mousse.
I'll also make the filling for either a meat and potato pie or steak and mushroom pie in the slow cooker ready to make the pie tomorrow as all the photos are making me drool.
Thanks for the fun, guys. Definitely up for it again. More rabbit filling in the freezer. Pie may not be low-calorie, but it's a great way to make a little meat go a long way. Now to learn how to make decent rough puff and flaky pastry...
For tonight, back legs off the rabbit. Middle-Eastified in fall-off-the-bone rabbit clearly appealed more to Mr Snoop than the other possible options I offered him. Stir-fried or roasted sprouts on the side I reckon.
Location: north-east Spain, where the sun is too hot, the rain too torrential, the hail too big, the wind too windy and the snow too deep. Last frost: usually mid-April, sometimes first week in May. First frost: mid-October.
Scary times!! Mr GF ran out if his favourite supermarket individual trifles and found MY chocolate mousse!! There was an actual double portion left. I ended with about a quarter of it.
All change here. No time for rabbit so spaghetti with pesto from the freezer plus grapes for afters.

I'm not going anywhere near that mousse. It's difficult enough dieting as it is.
So, fall-off-the-bone rabbit legs today. Definitely. Mini apple galette with the bit of pastry left over from the pie.

It's going to be a belated "pi day" here today. I cooked the filling yesterday afternoon. So we'll have meat (steak) and potato pie with a few mushrooms added, carrots and broccoli with extra gravy. Next job is to throw some butter and flour pastry in the food processor to make some shortcrust pastry when Mr GF has finished in the kitchen.
