We're off out down the valley for supper. Taking cava and red, but they don't need cooking, so that's good.

Mr Snoop did lunch: a frozen pizza that was weird. Convenient, but weird (some kind of BBQ topping but so sloppy with sauce the base couldn't possibly cook).

Steak butty with a creamy mushroom sauce, and a couple of glasses of fizz - followed by homemade trifle.

              Fish and chips.
Treated ourselves on the way home from mass.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

We have our celebrations on Christmas Eve. Family came round for a traditional German dinner of bratwurst and potato salad and sourdough bread followed by a gateau made by my daughter - and plenty of gluwein.

                    • Went to a friend's hybrid German/British Christmas Eve tonight, less traditional food but did involve dark bread which was good.

                        • We're on for nibbles, salmon and veg plus Christmas pud and cream.

Edited to add: nice bottle of local white for with the meal and a fantastic Pedro Ximenez sherry to go with pud.

Hope you all enjoy your Christmas meals.

                              • Tired of all the heavy dinners now.
Tonight we are just having sandwiches.
Ham and cheese with crisps and a glass of red.

And your hands begin to harden.
