Last night was a proper Sunday meal: confit de canard, potatoes roasted in some of the duck fat and veg, with orange slices in a caramel and rum sauce. Plus a really good bottle of wine. Running out of red now.

Today: home-made baked beans and egg on toast.
Supper: going to see if I can persuade friend to cook tonight. He was offering fish and broccoli in a Thai red curry and coconut sauce the other day. Fish and broccoli out the freezer and sauce ingredients out of jars and cartons.

Last night was squisotto (winter squash risotto). Yum.

Lunch: hummus, bean salad and toast (legume overload!)
Supper up the valley: polenta and dried mushroom ragù.

    Probably yet more bread.

I wouldnt recommend the Turkey burgers.
We thought they tasted more like sausage meat.
That's just our opinion of course.

No piri piri Turkey breast in the supermarket.
My son brought us piri piri Turkey burgers.
    Never had them before.
Cooking them with onions, mushrooms, peppers and chunky chips.

Salmon baked with lemon and capers, potato scallops, carrots, cauliflower cheese, asparagus and homemade tartare sauce.
We've got last of the trifle to finish with but we're both to full to contemplate it yet.
