      my sanity whilst all those around me loose theirs ... TBH I was mad as a badger before though so its all relative

        I took in some greens for freezing. Pheasants had moved in due to not enough shooting on the posh estates in the area.

          I have actually made lemon curd this year but unfortunately not with my own lemons so it doesn't really count.

            I'm thinking about attempting lacto-fermented mystery allium greens - I think it's few-flowered leek, there is loads in my front garden.

            Unfortunately I can't remember how the flowers look like, but it smells and tastes distinctly of garlic, and looks like blades of grass, so that's probably the most likely ID.

            As it's considered invasive the best thing is too eat it

              It is most likely wild garlic.
              Just look up wild garlic and you will find loads of photos. It grows easily in partial shade.

                It's definitely not wild garlic and I don't think it's three-cornered leek or field garlic either (spent a lot of time the last week trying to ID it, but it turns out it is surprisingly difficult without the flowers or bulbils )
                I'll post a picture for ID help when it flowers.

                  So far this year :- Ploughmans Pickle . Piccalli. Beetroot Chutney. Pickled Beetroot and sliced Onion. Baby beetroot. Shallots.Pickled Garlic. Pickled Onions.
                  Frozen :- Runner and French beans, chopped Onions. Broad Beans. Raspberries. Blackcurrants. Apple slices.
                  and Madam has made loads of Jam of various flavours.

                    My list for 2021

                    Dehydrated apples.
                    Blackberry and apple jam,
                    Raspberry jam
                    Rhubarb, orange and ginger jam
                    Spiced Damson chutney
                    Pickled courgettes
                    Pickled nasturtium seeds.
                    Location....East Midlands.

                      Not as much as usual as it hasn't been such a great year, usually there'd be lots of tomato based canning.

                      Strawberry-rhubarb-blackcurrant jam
                      Canned plums
                      Piccalilli
                      Pickled green beans
                      Dried beans
                      Plus green beans, chillies, and lots of soft fruits in the freezer
