I'm thinking of using cucumbers to use up my glut so I'm sure you could use gherkins binley.

Quick question. I made these and the first jar only lasted 2 days (so moreish). Can I re-use the vinegar solution to make more?

Think it's worth a try. After all, it's not going to have to last for months is it?

Its too moreish to last. I've just had it with burgers and while I was waiting for them to cook I was eating out of the jar lol.

Oh just a thought will I have to re-sterilize the jar or can I just shove them straight in?

Totally against the rules, but as you're using the same mix I wouldn't bother sterilizing.

If I've munched through a jar rather quicjkly I just add more courgettes to the vinegar...like you say...it's not like it's got to last

Also I nearly always end up with a few extra slices of courgettes and a lil too much of the vinegar towarrant sterilising another jar so I just pop them into a plastic tub for quick consumption.

I've not tried it with Sarsons yet,but as it's that much cheaper than cider vinegar I'll give it a go.

hey! just made this. although i think my brain must have been on its day off coz i managed to use mixed peppercorns instead of mustard seeds. i'll try 2mo, but hopefully it'll still be lovely!

                            Wow! This pickle is amazing!

I didn't have any mustard seeds so I used some mixed peppercorns and a tiny pinch of chilli flakes (neither crushed) and after an hour of maturing (!) my daughter is munching her way through them. I've had some too and will have some more with my dinner

                            Thanks andi&di x
