  • Spring bulbs sprouting

I have seen the thread below about September planted bulbs - mine were planted a month ago and are about an inch above the ground now. These are daffodils ... shall I just pile more earth on top of them - the weather has been extremely mild and if/when we do get a frost, won't it kill them?

No, don't earth them up. They will just keep growing. Daffodils are hardy, so will be fine with any frost.

Some bulbs will have leaves pop up in autumn, mainly daffs and muscari. Just leave them to it.

Even if you get flowers now, they'll be fine. Next year they'll sort themselves out to flower at the right time
