  • Seed head ID please

Hi, can anyone tell me what this enormous flower seed head is from please? I can see the seeds rattling around in it and I want to see if I can grow them... but not if it’s from a giant tree or a man eating triffid or something!
Size isn’t clear from photos, it’s about the size of half a tennis ball...

Did you grow it or was it in a bought bunch? Poppy if you grew it ---------it won't eat you!

    Bought bunch = Lotus, maybe.

Thanks VC, It’s from a bought bunch, but never had petals... if it’s lotus, will it grow here?

Yes, but the basic steps to germination of the seeds has got to be the same, you just won't have a sub-tropical pond to put them in once they've started to grow.

You'll have to put them in an aquarium and coddle them like tropical fish
