Is this Nicandra physaloides? Known as Shoo-fly or Apple of Peru? It's a nightshade and although grown as an ornamental I wouldn't have a go at eating the fruits - much as I love physalis fruits to eat. Dried display should be ok.

I was always led to believe that you can't eat the blue flowered ones As you want them for a dried arrangement you should be fine but, as Flummery said, please don't eat them
