  • Overwintering minute hostas

My wife, without my knowledge, ordered a collection of five bare-rooted hosta "plants" from Parkers.
As you can see from the pictures they are well rooted, what I would describe as pips.
Their instructional Youtube shows a nice chunky rhizome with a couple of pips attached.
I've potted them in mix of JI3 and MPC in 6" pots.
I a bit worried about resilience of such small plants. I intend to keep slightly moist in frost free green house.
I am annoyed that these were sold now when hostas are going dormant. I would have thought spring is the proper time so they can get away and bulk up.
Any ideas please.Click image for larger version

I can't see the photos but I think having them now is much better than in the spring. They should take off well and put on some good early growth when it warms up in early Spring.

They should be fine, I would suggest keeping them on the dry side to avoid rot.

They may be small but they look really healthy. Hostas can
Cost a fortune so I think this is a good way to get some new ones. Let me know how they go.
