  • New growth on calendula?

    Hi,

While pulling up some 'finished' calendula plants this morning, I noticed a lot of small new leaves growing from the base of the stems, they almost looked like seedlings - would these make it through the Winter if I pruned off all the dead growth above? Or can they be saved/propagated some other way? Or are they just pointless little leaves growing for fun?

Its a short lived perennial - I leave mine to do their own thing.

Me too. I clip off the previous year's lanky growth in spring and the plants happily flower again.
