Has anyone any tips on getting rid of black fly on Nasturtiums. I was thinking of using a garlic brew and spraying them. Maybe they have grown a verity that flies don't like Any feed back would be gratefully received.

If you plant broad beans next to them, your nasturtiums will be fine.

Seriously, I just pick off the worst affected nasturtium leaves, and squash the bugs before adding to the compost heap (they tend to congregate on just one or two leaves). I eat nasturtium leaves, so wouldn't want to spray them with anything at all.

I just make my hands all soapy and rub them off.

If you're lucky enough to be in an area without a hosepipe ban, a fine but direct spray of cold water washes aphids off and kills them into the bargain.

BTW, I've read that you can eat nasturtium seeds like capers - has anyone tried this?
