  • Going to have a flower sowing fest this evening................

Was given loads of packets of hardy and half hardy annuals yesterday, with the instruction " There you are, just burn the packets you don't want"

Bit late I know, but I intend sowing them all in individual pots/trays this afternoon and we'll see what comes of it!

Go for it.......any you don't sow now will keep anyway. Just ask Jeanie how long mignonette seeds keep .....the ones she gave me have germinated and they were before use by dates.....

They'll be fine. Most flower quite quickly after sowing anyway (apart from Snapdragons). I've only just sowed my Cosmos this week.

If you sow them all, you're committed to nurturing them all the way ... my gh is full to bursting and I really should sacrifice some of them, but there I am, potting on, feeding & weeding them all... where on earth I'm going to plant them all I don't know, esp. with no rain on the forecast whatsoever

Any flowers I plant in our garden have to be protected by slug traps or cloches. It really doesn't look all that attractive but they mow down the cosmos at the stem Looks like we'll be faffin about like this for a few more years since we had all our taddies murdered by a taddicidal toddler. I have some calendula still to plant out and some nasturtiums. Dunno whether to risk the delphiniums yet, the slugs love them apparently
