  • Freesias - where to plant the bulbs, please?

Hi, I wonder if anyone could give me some advice about freesias, please? I've had a look at this Flower Mill forum and still can't figure out where to plant the freesia bulbs I just bought at the weekend.

I'm not sure whether to plant them in a pot and keep them in a warm (very hot in summer) conservatory, or to plant them in an outside pot, or whether to plant them in the soil outside.

The temperatures here in Edinburgh are not brilliant at the moment: it's going down to minus 2 or 3 at night still, and daytime can be anything between 1 and 8 degrees.

I'm just not sure what to do with these bulbs but as freesias are my absolute favourite flowers in the world, I thought I'd have a bash anyway!

I've never succeeded with them, I think they do best in a greenhouse and with early planting "though you can plant them in early spring, autumn is better" ...http://www.telegraph.co.uk/gardening...-freesias.html

Thank you Two Sheds! You always come up with great links

I think what I'll do is just plant them in a pot and keep them in the conservatory anyway - see what happens!
