  • Forced Hyacinths

People here were so helpful when I tried forced hyacinth for the first time, I hope it's okay to show the results. They didn't come out for Christmas but they sure cheered up my January! And the scent......

I picked complimentary colours but of course they didn't bloom at the same time!

      Lovely.

In my late teens I had a longish illness. In the middle of it, my Mum brought home some blue hyacinths and their scent was a beautiful, positive thing in an otherwise difficult time. To this day, the scent of hyacinths makes me feel loved and peaceful.

Just a thought..... normal ie. unforced hyacinths bloom around this time of year so worth potting up a few for inside the house as well as outside. The scent is wonderful and doesn’t have that overpowering quality I sometimes have a problem with like lillies or paper white narcissi.
