  • First year flowering foxgloves

I am creating a cottage herbaceous border in a hurry and I am sure I read about foxgloves that flower in the first year, not sure where they are from though. I see that Plants of Distiniction have a F1 that flowers the same year but thats from seed (and its a little late in the year for that now). Any one know of anywhere I could pick up young plants that will flower this year?

You'll probably get them at any garden centre for a price. I have them for weeds and throw them on the compost heap. Only white and purple ones - no other colours. Very lovely but seed all over the place. Sometimes I don't have the heart to pull them out and that's why I get them everywhere. This year having them out before they flower. Definately ! Would send you some but they're very well on their way now and wouldn't travel.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.
