  • Feeding roses

    Hi all,

What do you guys use as a feed for your roses? I'm currently using David Austin slow-release pellets. I've been talking to a few people who say that they use a liquid feed (such as seaweed) once a week as well as the same David Austin slow-release pellets.

What do you guys think? Is this too much?

    Cheers,
    Marbles

Hard to beat horse manure for roses, if you can get it.

      Thanks, nickdub.

I was thinking of using that as a mulch next year. Am I right in thinking that it's a bit too late in the year to apply composted horse manure now?

      Thanks again

Well I'm no expert, but I'd say you'd be fine to put some on now, as long as the ground is not too dry = of course any natural manure is slow acting, so you don't get the quick "kick" that you do with an inorganic one.
