Eryngium Sowing
Eryngium - The advice from the site I bought them is:
Pre-chill seed.Sow seed on the surface of lightly firmed, moist seed compost. After sowing, seal container inside a polythene bag and place at a temperature of 15-21C for 3-6 weeks. Then, place the container and bag into a refrigerator for a further 3-6 weeks. After this cold period return container to 15-21C .
My good lady wife isn't happy with seedtrays on the window ledge I doubt seed trays in the fridge is going to washI believe some varieties of sea hollies are native so seems a bit extreme?

Its just a way to speed up germination by convincing the seed that it has been through a winter cold season.
You can sow them as normal but they will take longer to germinate.
PS I can't believe how many "wives" don't like seedtrays on windowsills or anywhere indoors. Ask yourselves, do you do something that your OH regards as unacceptable indoors?Make 2019 the Year of Random Seed sowing

Believe it VC my Dragon, I mean Triffid is one, Bladers has one from the same stable I just about managed to get an Ikea Mini Greenhouse behind the leaf of the patio door to the kitchen that does not open as it has the waste bin in front and that was only because the kids bought it for me out of pity for a birthday
That's also why I made the two portable grow stations that I can just about fit in my broom cupboard officeLast edited by Cadalot; 15-01-2019 at 09:03 AM.

My husband married me and my plants. You've got one, you've got the rest.....
That said, our garage has his seven (push) bikes, related tools and gear and in it, no room for much else. Live and let live in our house!
