  • Easy to grow perennials for cutting?

I'd quite like a few easy perennials to churn out flowers for me at the side of my plot. I grew cosmos and sweetpeas this year and am totally converted to flowers as crops.

Assuming I know very little about flowers, what would you recommend?

I've just put in dahlias, roses, rudbekia (sp?) and chrysanthemums, all from the garden centre bargain bin. Don't mind spending proper money on something that will give me flowers year on year.

    Thoughts? Many thanks

Can highly recommended gaillardias (sometimes called jam tart flowers, or blanket flowers). I have several plants, they flower their socks off all summer, and last well in a vase. Can be a bit scrawly - support them early in the season.

Pinks, pretty flowers, and I love the smell.
