  • Cosmos question.

My cosmos has been very late this year with some blind plants. ( what's that all about???)
But now they are fabulous with a white one full of flower and about 7ft high!
I dead head constantly but sometimes miss some which result in seeds.
My question is why don't they self seed? They are prolific and must drop a lot of seed but I never see and seeded plants in my garden.
    Any thoughts?

Do you hoe or weed nearby?

Cosmos are only half-hardy so you shouldn't expect them to self seed, you have to start them off somewhere warm each year

Ah. That's interesting. I didn't think of that. No I don't hoe nearby either. I always bring plants on myself I was just curious re self seeding.
