  • Can I plant winter berry, primrose and heather plants on top of a bulb lasagna?

I have seen videos of tulips, daffodils, and crocus being layered in pots, with violas and pansies being planted on top to fill the bare soil before the spring bulbs bloom.
I was wondering if winter berry plants, heather and primroses could be planted on top?or would the roots of these plants be too dense compared to violas, making it more difficult for the spring flowers to poke through?

I've successfully put primroses on top of the bulbs, they have pushed through no problem. I don't know about the others.

Depends how thick and dense the heather planting is. Violas, pansies and primula are quite easy for the bulb to push through, dense heathers may be a bit trickier, but so long as you leave gaps they will likely find a way.
