  • Another flower ID.

I saved seed from a friends giant yellow scabious.

I'm sure I haven't mixed up the seed.
The leaves could well be holly hocks, but are very large - easily 14 inches across.
Have I got my seeds muddled? Or a weird cross? Or something else entirely?

Photo take a few weeks back - the leaves have got much bigger

You sent me some of those seeds!
I have seedlings but they're not that big.

VC, the leaf isn't supposed to look like that! Honestly tried them twice now

I'm so sorry - I've given you all duds

The leaf of the giant scabious should look like this :

Round, from memory, but they're in the GH and its getting a bit gloomy for a photo.
            Remind me tomorrow!!

A reminder for VC sorry to anyone who tried to grow the giant yellow scabious from the flower circle last year - I really wanted that plant but this is an imposter - and I haven't a clue what it is.

See my first post.....I thought I had the seed muddled and they were hollyhocks.
VC kindly sent some seed back to me. I got the same thing. The leaves are much bigger than any holly hocks I've ever grown.

Mine are like NG's so Hollyhocks it is.
I like 'olly'ocks and 'appy to be growing them.
