  • Aloe Vera cutting

I was wondering if anyone has taken cuttings from an Aloe Vera plant before?

Mine sits inside near the window and seems to be really happy - we have to keep re-potting her into bigger and bigger pots!

However, she does seem to have a little baby Aloe Vera appearing at the base of the plant (attached to the main one I think under the soil) and I'm worried that the two together might be too much for the pot! Is it possible to cut off this "baby" Aloe and put it its own pot?

    Thanks!

you should be able to 'break' it off, pot it into damp compost, they are quite easy to propagate, i had one, now i have seven, all from the little babies it throws

That seems fairly simple! I will try that when I get some potting compost, thanks BrideXIII!

Make sure the compost is fairly well drained, maybe mix some grit into the potting compost. Aloe Vera is a succulent so can survive very well with moderate watering and good drainage.

or no watering, no care, and being left outside in the cold to die
