T&M goji berry

My lad has grown them from the seeds of dried gojiberries from the shops. Ever resourceful! However, he does realise he's going to have to wait about 5 years before he gets any fruit!

I got the same deal from T&M last year. I ended up giving one away (as you say, for space reasons!) but my two remaining ones are thriving. I had them in pots till last autumn then straight into the ground with a few chicken pellets in the holes. They've got loads of lovely leaf growth this year already.

Goji berries grow wild in the hedgerows in parts of Suffolk because a plant hunter brought them back to his garden from China in the 18th century, and when birds ate the berries the bushes spread them quite a long way.

As their habit of self seeding would suggest, they are remarkable unfussy and easy to grow, and they take a few years to get big, so it might be worth hanging on to all three of yours for a while and then moving the third one in winter (when it's dormant) if you find you don't have enough room.

I love them and can't wait till ours fruit - we got three bushes last spring and they are still only about 30cm high.

i also ordered them but i've gone in with my mum and a friend �9.99 each �4.99 delivery so �5 each hope they dont take to long to come but saying that i've just done tesco online and bought a pack of dried berrys coz i don't even know what they taste like

. so might save some seed if i like them

If you don't like the dried berries at first, eat a few more - they are a bit of an acquired taste, but then they're addictive!

Thanks jeannine, good idea, i will keep the three for a bit,
When will they fruit? do i have to wait years?
not sure how old the plants will be.
