  • Summer raspberries confused?

We cut down our summer raspberries as usual after they finished fruiting in August/September. They now have a good crop of fruit ripening - I have just picked a good bowlful. How should I treat them so they will bear fruit next summer - should I cut back the flowering and fruiting stems now?
All advice very welcome, thank you.

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

From the number of questions asked on here, raspberries cause the most confusion - especially when it comes to pruning.
    I have a simple rule,
When its dead, off with its head!

In other words, I leave any living canes until they die, then I cut them down. It may not be textbook advice but it works for me.
