  • Strawberries in Tub

    Hi All

My strawberries in my planter are coming into their second year......to give em a good start should I feed with anything (have some Sulphate of Potash - but not sure if it's too early for that)..

    TIA.....

If it's fresh compost, they should be OK. If it isn't, the crop may not be too good. Try a bit of Tomato food every couple of weeks.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it and if you ain't going to eat it, don't kill it

In general straws in planters are only any good for a season, Really it depends how kindly they were treated after fruiting and overwinter. The time to feed them bonemeal was last Summer, nitrogen from March, and potash from late April but try, as Norm says, Tomato food.
