  • storing blackcurrants

I have 2 youung bushes and am delighted that they are both full of currants.
However they are not all ripening at the same time, and as a result I have only managed to pick 150g today. There is probably another couple of pounds not yet ready.
150 is obviously not enough yet for anything useful!

How long will they keep in the fridge til I can get more?
Or can I freeze them and then defrost to use when I've got enough?
Don't want them to go to waste

    Thanks

I freeze mine, just as they are, then eat them in the winter on porridge

      That sounds good.

I am guessing now they have started ripening it won't take long for them all to do so?

Watch out for blackbirds ... they will strip a bush in a morning. I'm chucking net curtains over mine this year.
