  • Red tips on strawberry leaves

I wonder can anyone help me with this. I've noticed that some of my strawberry plants' leaves have tiny red 'dots' right on the tip of the leaf edges. Right on the tips of the serated edges. It's the strangest thing. It actually looks lovely But I wonder if it is a desease. Googled but came up with nothing. Must try get a photo.
    Thanks a lot

Shouldn't think it's a problem. Are they old leaves from last year?

Thanks, no they are new leaves. It's not like discolouration, it really is very precise little dots like they were painted on, weird. Will take a photo.

Would be interested to see what you mean redser. Strawberries very often get some red on the leaves, but it doesn't affect the crop.

I have 15 strawberry seedlings in my propagator - no problem with germination, but they have stopped at 1-2cm high. Planted them in Feb, because I wanted to plant something and it was the only seed packet I could find that suggested planting in Feb.

Anyway, a couple of the leaves on the larger seedlings are completely red.

My guess would be it's a sign of stress, but as you can probably guess I'm not an expert.

Are they still in the same compost that they were sown in? If yes then the compost has run out of goodies and they are starved. Prick them out into individual small pots or modules of fresh multipurpose compost. Answer kind of depends on what you've done with them since they germinated... are they indoors or out?
