  • This really is ......

A Blackcurrant bush, not mine I would add.

Can some one please tell me what to do with it other than dig it up and start again.

Is there meant to be a link to a photo here or am I just being dim?

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Sorry I thought that I had attached a picture! Must have been too tired to do it properly. Spent Saturday and Sunday trying to sort out the garden of a friend. What a mess

Snadger used his psychic powers to view your pic. Roitelet! The pic. is a bit small but it looks like it needs pruning & mulching & a bit of T.L.C. If you prune it though you may not get much fruit this year but you would be able to see if it is healthy enough to be saved & it should then fruit next year.

            Well I've done it!!!

Took the long handled loppers to it today. The bush had been left so long untended that the branches had layered themselves so instead of one bush we now have 5 Will now dig them up next back end and replant them.

One of the tricks to getting new bushes from old is to apply a really thick mulch of old potting compost. The branches will root into it and once they are rooted they can be severed from the parent plant with roots intact as new plantlets!
