  • Raspberry question

    Our new plot has some raspberries on it. In classic fashion, we're not sure if they are summer or autumn fruiting. My husband cut them down with a strimmer in June, not realising what they were. They've grown canes again and it looks like a couple are trying to grow flower buds. Is this an indication that they might be autumn fruiting? Should I cut everything back in winter and just see how it pans out next year? Leave half to see how they get on? Thanks;

    My advice is, if its dead, cut it down. If its alive, leave it alone.
    That way, over a year or so, you'll work out which is which. Most of mine are mixed up anyway, so I follow my own advice and leave them alone until dead.
