  • raspberry leaves going yellow...

why? what should I do? seems to be quite gradual, first one plant and then the next... all advice gratefully appreciated!!

Do the leaves turn yellow evenly or is it more patchy on each leaf making them look like a mosaic?

There is a virus called 'Mosaic Virus' which can be a big problem for raspberries - no cure I know about. You would have to dig up and destroy all the infected plants, including any and all runners and burn them, then replant with certifed stock elsewhere.

A picture would help to identify the problem if you can.

Ok, so evenly loosing colour and turning yellow. Could well be a deficiency of some sort.

If you are Kent Coast then I assume you are on chalk, raspberries prefer a more acidic ground so try giving an ericacious feed and see if that helps. Long term you might need to work a lot of compost/manure into the area to acidify it.

We have something similar - think its magnesium deficiency so we've fed them with Epsom salts and they seem to look better but its only been a few days.
