  • Preparing for strawberries

    Morning!

I am going to move all my strawberry plants from my garden to my plot in about October time (is this too early?)

My plot is currently heavy clay that no one on the site can ever remember being worked.

I have cleared an area of weeds, and I am going to buy a bulk bag of compost to dig in, I'm assuming as much as I can get hold of is the best option there. Any other ideas on preparing the ground?

    Thanks

Get someone else to do it.
Feed the soil, not the plants.

If the clay becomes too much hard work, raised beds may the way forward. How are the other plot holders growing?

In a range of ways, some raised beds some straight in to the ground there's a plot with what seems like 100 pots on, but the one thing everyone seems to agree on is they've added a lot of compost/manure/sand to their soils
