    bit worried about them. have they been affected by the frost?

    Picture (or my eyes) are a little fuzzy, but they look ok to me.

      Yep they're fine - each growing bit like the one you are holding will develop on and eventually become several individual buds, then flowers and hopefully fruit - the name for these bits on a fruit tree is a spur.

        sorry, yes, it was windy when I took it (hence the hand in the picture - I'm not showing off my watch...), and I kept it low resolution to allow it to definitely upload, but yes, they are a bit blurry.

        Thanks all for the reassurance. I shall look at the site.
        Not worried about any fruit for this year, just want to make sure they are in and established. (I assume from year 2 onwards they are more robust?)

          Pears tend to look a bit weak and wobbly in the spur area, depending on the variety - seem to support the fruit OK though.
