  • Moving fruit

I have inherited some autumn fruiting rasps, some red currants blaclk currants and gooseberries on my allotment

They are all v undergrown with couch grass and bindweed.

I have cleared some space elsewhere on the plot and I would like to move them.

    Should I do it now?

Should I wait till the spring for the frost to break down the heavy clay soil, to dig in some manure (which I have yet to obtain), and for yet more bindweed to sprout?

I'm planning to cut them back quite hard on the top and to wash trhier roots to get rid of the weeds

    Any hints about spacing?
