I grew melons last year and it was well into the season before any female flowers formed! They did form eventually though and a couple of melons from an outdoor plant wasn't bad for this area I thought!

Just be patient, and the female flowers will surely form eventually!

        The colour of the bootees?

The male flowers have a thin stalk but the female have a swelling which if fertilised will turn into the melon.
