The older I get, the more like my mother I become. I remember the peach tree she grew from a stone when I was a small child. It grew 20 feet tall and had huge juicy peaches on. It was my job to take the bowl containing vegetable and potato peelings and the water they were peeled in, every day, and throw it under the tree.Location - Leicestershire - Chisit-land

When I planted out my runner beans last weekend, I found yet another nectarine. It must have come up from the HM compost I dug in for the beans. They must germinate very easily, or maybe it's overwintering in the dalek that starts them off
So now I have three...
Any advice on how to prune the bigger two will be gratefully received, as I don't have a clue!Location - Leicestershire - Chisit-land

Nestling among the peonies, I found an apple too, so fetched it out and into a pot. Is it a self seeder, or is it one of the prunings I shoved in the ground last winter? Hmmm....

Have fun with them!
I have a couple in pots which have come out of the compost, and noticed one which is in the middle of the broad beans yesterday. No fruit yet, but you never know

You are like my nan...you just 'have it' the gift of green thumbs!
My granddad was a stevedore (a docker working shipside) and she made him stand on newspaper when he got home so she could shake any seeds from his trouser turn ups, seeds from all over the world.
She grew all manner of things that you'd think can't grow here...she just had had that magic about her.
Plants (and grandchildren) just thrived in her presence, just needed to grow.
You must have it too
