    Yes very good value.

I got an Opal plum which is self fertile and well rated for sweetness and flavour in the books I also got some some red currents. I was going to get a Stella Cherry but I figured the birds would get all the cherries.

The roots were a little dry so I would recommend soaking overnight before planting.

The delivery of trees to my local lidl was late today! My friend went there for me and they had no Victoria plum trees delivered at all!! Shame I wanted one of them! I asked her to get a stalla Cherry for me, also a pare tree instead of the plum tree. I thought I had read somewhere that the other plum tree they were selling was only for cooking not just eating from the tree like the vicky plum? I may be wrong here as new to growing fruit trees! Can anyone please let me know for sure because I might see if they will change the pare tree for one of the other plum trees! I think as Galelo said they are Opal Plums, thanks peeps!

Opal Plums are dessert plums i.e for eating off the tree. They are self fertile so you need only one tree to get fruit. They are well rated for flavour in the books.

I used to have a Victoria Plum tree years ago. They are nice plums and also self fertile but are known to be prone to silver leaf disease. I lost mine to silver leaf disease and I had to cut it down and burn it to stop it spreading to other trees in the area.

Not many pears are self fertile so you may need two different trees for pollination. Same with apples. Maybe one of your neighbours has a tree to help you out. Of course you never know when they may cut it down. You need to check or you may be waiting for ever for your tree to fruit.

Missed this until today. Just got back with the cherry and the buerre hardy and conference pear. Will the two dessert apples be able to cross polinate each other?

There should be information on the packaging re pollinators. If not google (name of variety/pollinators) and you should be able to find what they are!

If I remember correctly, last year they kept bringing back the fruit trees well into Winter in my local LIDL. I went and got a Cherry Stella and a Pear Doyenne Du Comice last night - just in case - though.

No, the cox's orange pippin will polinate the jonagold but the jonagold is a triploid so you need another type as well.
