we got a free small lemon tree in a 5 or 6" pot, its on the windowsill. It has a couple of tiny lemons on it but it looks as if it has outgrown the pot. Can I re-pot it now when its in fruit? I'm afraid I know nothing about fruit.
    Thanks

I would try re-potting it if it really has outgrown the pot because it wont thrive in a too small pot and you'd lose the lemons anyway ..is it in blossom? see mine!!!!

Your lemon tree is adorable, Jardiniere! Yes, Pompey, repot it. You can try a bigger pot if you don't think it's ready to brave the outside yet.

Only ever repot citrus if its actively growing new growth, and never go much bigger in the pot, on a small pot maybe an inch or so bigger using a very free draining citrus compost mix

If its in a 6 inch pot, it can get quite big before needing re-potting. Citrus like small pots , i would leave it for now if you have only just got it, citrus plants often die after re-potting, let it get used to where it is growing at least before upsetting it again
