  • Just wondering...

As much as I have issues with ants I was watching them today on my pear tree and noticed then having a feast at a few of the flowers, could this lead to them pollinating things?

When I say feast on the flowers I mean the nectar rather than the petals

Yes, of course they can pollinate your flowers if they are dislodging pollen with their movements.

You can even do it yourself with a soft paintbrush

Are there any aphids present? Ants "farm" aphids for the sticky goo they secrete. As for pollination, I don't know!

That was my first thought which was my main reason for examining the tree but couldn't see any
