Jostaberry friut are almost indistinguishable from blackcurrants. However the bushes are much more vigorous and take much longer to come into fruit. They apparently make good jam but aren't that good as a fresh fruit (except for bird food) or in pies.
I suggest you plant blackcurrants instead.
Why didn't Noah just swat those 2 greenflies?

Why are they called apartments when they are all stuck together?

I take a different view and in my opinion, they taste better than blackcurrants for all uses. Jostaberries have a more mellow flavour and I use them in jam, icecream, pies, tarts, puddings, crumbles and muffins. I freeze a lot and use them throughout the year. In fact, I have grubbed up most of my blackcurrants, though I planted a new one this year called ebony, which has a more mellow flavour than other blackcurrants.
