  • Jostaberry 'blackcurrant'

I have just purchased 4 of these via a catalogue (thought I would try something different). They have arrived in small pots with quite a lot of new buds on. The instructions on what to do with them are less than useless.

    Do I

1 Put them on the allotment this weekend ( if so do I have to cut them back). The info I have says they need protection against frost at night time.

2 Put them in larger pots to overwinter in either one of my greenhouses or the polytunnel and plant out once all frosts have passed?

Any ideas/help on this would be appreciated as I dont want to kill them.,

There is advice on growing Jostaberries here jostaberry
I would just plant them in their final positions. Do not bother to prune them, or to provide frost protection. They have proved to be hardy in Glasgow. As they flower quite early, they could be frosted with a late frost, but I have had no problems for some 7 years.
