Last year my tayberries fruited, the 1st wave of flowers turned into fruits went partially red on the top (as if they were sunburnt) and stopped growing,
the same thing has happened again this year, can anyone help, please? I did get the 2nd wave of flowers to carry on as normal, but this year looks as if its virtually all the fruit.

Also they never actually turned maroon or what ever colour its supposed to be any ideas?? Ive still got the label saying tayberries.

I have never had any problem with hybrid berries and usually they are one of the easiest fruit to grow. Couple of things to remember are 1. the fruit is born on last years canes and the canes should be cut down to ground level once fruited to encourage new canes to grow. 2. All fruit needs plenty of water and you need to incorporate as much organic material into the soil to retain water as you can 3. to help retain water use a good mulch.
Other than that there isn't a lot more you can do.

I have started eating mine now in Glasgow and I am picking them as they turn maroon. See the photo on this page for the ripe colour:www.growyourown.info/page81.html
You do not say where you bought the tayberry, but I have seen some bought hybrid berry bushes, which had been quite clearly mislabeled. Loganberries are sometimes mistaken for Tayberries.
